The Drummer: Curiosity

I would like to introduce The Drummer or the Curiosity Legacy Behavior. You are a visionary, a forward thinker who is the heartbeat of the band/company. You are always interested in bringing the best future to the company. You keep the tempo moving and seek ways to find opportunities for growth and progress. As the drummer you are consistently looking for answers to the many questions rolling around in your head. And, if done well they have a grasp of what is happening within the organization from ceiling to floor.

This is what leading with a curious legacy completes for the business. Asking questions to all employees, understanding they have ideas as they are closer to the customer; and, more importantly, the people you serve will feel empowered and most likely will remain loyal, which will increase productivity.

If your legacy is curiosity, you are fortunate and inspire many to believe in themselves and you will be remembered for those lunches, the one to ones, the time you took to ask questions and truly listen. You will continue to keep the tempo beating for your company. I am honored to know you!

“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” Bob Marley

How can you spot The Drummer behaving in their Curiosity Legacy?

  1. Responsibility with Curiosity is their motto
  2. They ask a lot of questions and seeing things from a different perspective to move forward
  3. Every conversation starts with a question and sits back and listens for an answer. The key here is you are actively listening, you do not make any judgements.
  4. They take time to wander, read and enjoy figuring out strategies
  5. They speak less and listen intentionally and look to have all their team seen and heard.
